On the weekend of Friday 9 and Saturday 10 October 2020, Chepstow Racecourse welcome the return of National Hunt racing at the Unibet Jumps Season Opener; a fixture that marks the official start of the winter Jumps Season across the UK.
Although the exciting live horse racing is taking place behind closed doors, you can download your free copy of Friday’s racecard now to ensure you’re familiar with all the runners and riders before watching all the action live on Sky Sports racing, channel 415 on Sky or 535 on Virgin.
Executive Director at Chepstow Racecourse, Phil Bell, said:
“The entries across the two days have been of the highest quality; particularly for Friday’s feature race, the £30,000 Grade Two Unibet Persian War Novices’ Hurdle. This race has been won by some real stars of the sport over the decades and I’m looking forward to seeing who is victorious in this year’s race.
“Although it’s a shame that we are racing without crowds, we are in regular contact with the Welsh government, along with the British Horseracing Authority, and will continue to work with them to welcome spectators back to enjoy watching live horse racing when it is safe to do so. In the meantime, I’d like to thank Sky Sports Racing for their support, which ensures comprehensive coverage of the meeting to all of our customers watching the action from home. We’re also delighted that Friday’s Unibet Persian War Novices’ Hurdle will be shown live on ITV Racing.”
Sponsored by Unibet, coverage of Chepstow Racecourse’s two-day Jumps Season Open begins on Friday at 1.30pm and Saturday at 12.15pm. The Grade Two Unibet Persian War Novices’ Hurdle will be shown on ITV Racing at 3.15pm on ITV3.
