Chepstow racecourse will celebrate its centenary year in 2026. 29 fixtures will take place at Chepstow in 2026 after the BHA revealed the fixture list for next year.
Highlights include a special Centenary Fixture to celebrate 100 years of Chepstow racecourse which will take place on Sunday 9th August.
The recently rebranded Dragonbet Welsh Racing Festival launched for this year has grown in popularity in recent times and is regarded by many as the starting point for the National Hunt season.
This three-day meeting will take place from Friday 9th October to Sunday 11th October. National Hunt legends Cue Card and Altior are just two examples of the profile of horse who have used this meeting as a starting point in their season.
The biggest meeting of the year at Chepstow, the Coral Welsh Grand National, will take place on 27th December. Last year’s renewal was won by Val Dancer for Mel Rowley. The day also features the Coral Finale Juvenile Hurdle (G2) which has been won by some smart juvenile hurdlers including Bristol De Mai (2014) and Defi Du Seuil (2016).
Chepstow will offer a variety of offers and packages at meetings throughout the year to celebrate 100 years of Chepstow racecourse.
These include a three-day pass for the Welsh Racing Festival, as well as Early Bird Welsh Grand National ticket pricing in January.
Luke Admans, Executive Director at Chepstow Racecourse, said: “As Chepstow racecourse enters its Centenary year, we are thrilled to be working on some amazing announcements for the 2026 fixtures announced. Amongst our traditional headline act, the Coral Welsh Grand National fixture on 27th December, we’re looking forward to building on the re-branded Dragonbet Welsh Racing Festival (Friday 9th October-Sunday 11th October) and making that a real statement opening to the jumps season in the UK.”
He added: “We’re also incredibly excited to have been granted a Centenary celebratory fixture on Sunday 9th August. This fixture will be the centrepiece of a full year of celebrating our 100th birthday as a racecourse and will feature a full action-packed day on and off the course. In what will be a huge year for the racecourse, we’re busy finalising our plans and look forward to welcoming racegoers to join in the celebrations with us.”
