Meeting & Events Sales Executive

Chepstow Racecourse is seeking a Meeting & Events Sales Executive to join its commercial team at a very exciting time as we prepare for our 2017 season.

Reporting to and working alongside the Sales Manager, the Meetings & Events Sales Executive is responsible for all EVH sales & delivery.

First and foremost we’re looking for an enthusiastic individual, you may have previously worked in another venue and you’ll have plenty of ideas of how we can grow our Meetings & Events business at the course. Secondly you will know how deliver an outstanding customer experience that meets the highest standards. We also require someone who isn’t afraid to roll their sleeves up as part of a small but hard working team.

Strong organisational and IT skills are a prerequisite and you’ll also be available to work evenings and weekends to meet the needs of our growing business.

The ideal candidate will need experience working within a branded hotel or another venue in a previous role would be an advantage. You will need to demonstrate proven sales skills and good interpersonal skills.

CATERING STAFF

Chepstow Racecourse is undergoing some exciting new changes in its Hospitality and Catering Division and we are looking for bright and enthusiastic staff to join our team! We will be recruiting in a number of areas, from Hospitality Bar & Waiting, Public Bar & Food Service Assistants to Public Back of House, Supervisors & Managers, Kitchen Porters & Chefs. Working hours would be on a flexible basis (ie, no set hours) for both Raceday and Non-Raceday events.

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING SKILLS:-

  • Previous experience in catering is preferable but not essential;
  • Excellent Customer Service skills (NVQ Qualification would be preferable); Self-motivated & enthusiastic;
  • Friendly & polite manner;
  • Well presented at all times;
  • Able to use their own initiative and be a team player; and
  • Flexibility.

CATERING ASSISTANT

We are looking for someone who is able to commit to the 32 race meetings that we have each year. The applicant will need to display that they are happy and capable to work independently, with support from the management team. Discretion will be of the up most importance as it is a VIP area. The ideal candidate would have had previous experience working in a canteen style restaurant of busy coffee shop

Duties to include:-

Serving customers, both, hot and cold food and drinks, rotation of stock, keeping a clean and organised working area including the washing of equipment and utensils, completing opening and closing paper work in a timely manner.

BARISTA TRAINED STAFF

We are looking for two Barista trained staff to work within a coffee service station on race days. We have 32 race meetings each year. We are looking for bubbly and customer focused people who will be happy to work with in this busy environment. The ideal applicants will have experience working on a Barista coffee machine.

Duties to include:-

Serving customers hot and cold food and snacks, preparing speciality teas and coffees, keeping a clean , well stocked and organised working area, working on a till and cash handling as well as completing opening and closing paper work in a timely manner.
